Going home
Apr. 10th, 2026 01:40 pmThey are honorably discharged but just barely. Cougar's pretty sure Clay makes sure that happens for them and leverages every piece of dirt he has on the US Military to make it happen. It means a lot. At least to Cougar it does. He served and suffered for his country. He wanted them to recognize that even if they hate what the Losers did.
When they're tossed into civilian life with barely nothing Cougar gets a used pickup truck from the 80's that still runs and starts the drive east. A plane would be faster but who's going to pick them up from the airport? What do they do for transport after that? Getting wheels makes sense.
It does mean saying goodbye to Clay and Pooch but only for now. They're going to reunite with Pooch when his kid is born. Clay's going with Pooch to reintroduce him to Jolene. That leaves Jensen and Cougar on their own for the drive to New Hampshire.
Their first night in a hotel they fuck like crazy, finally getting it out of their system. Cougar feels a deep sense of relief every time he sees the bite marks he left behind on Jensen.
Luckily, they've mostly faded by the time he pulls the truck up outside Julie's place.
He can feel Jensen's nerves like they're his own. His lover is practically vibrating out of his seat with how scared he is of his sister's reaction. Cougar knows he expects to be rejected again, like pretending to die betrayed his sister somehow.
Cougar reaches over, squeezes the back of his neck firmly, and then gets out of the truck. He approaches the door first and rings the doorbell.
Julie Jensen is much like her brother. Same blonde hair. Same bright blue eyes. She's got a slightly rounder face and softer edges compared to her Special Forces brother. To Cougar she looks very much like a mother.
"You son of a bitch!"
He dodges the slap that comes his way and catches her wrist when she tries to do it again. She's yelling at him, cursing as creatively as any drill sergeant but Cougar cuts her off with one firm statement.
"He's alive. I brought him home."
